ABZ Dove Foundation
Our Purpose
The ABZ Dove Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated~Alpha Beta Zeta Chapter, located in Newport News/Hampton, Virginia. The ABZ Dove Foundation was founded to support the community service programs and higher education efforts of the underserved and underprivileged in the Newport News/Hampton, Virginia area.
Another key initiative of the ABZ Dove Foundation is its Stork's Nest. Stork’s Nest is a community-based, prenatal health promotion program for women and girls. The program is designed to promote prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during pregnancy. The ABZ Dove Foundation also provides support for other youth and community activities.
Our Vision
The ABZ Dove Foundation's VISION is to strive to bring about change in infant mortality rates via offering free prenatal care training, classes for expecting mothers, in additon to advocacy and programs. The best policies and practices are based on research, with evidence that shows what works. The best innovations come from testing of new ideas and approaches.
Our Mission

Increase the number of healthy births by increasing the number of low-income women receiving adequate medical care and social services during pregnancy.

To provide community resources and information that meet the needs of underprivileged women, young girls, and their families.

To provide prenatal education sessions for pregnant women and their support system to help them make informed decisions about prenatal health and baby care.

Provide incentives (maternity and baby items) to pregnant women receiving early and regular prenatal care.

To encourage and assist young women to attain leadership roles in the Newport News/Hampton community.

To promote the ideals of Scholarship, Service, Charity, Civic and Cultural endeavors to the Newport News/Hampton community.
ABZ Stork's Nest
Supporting Healthy Mothers and Infants
Mothers and infants in the United States face unacceptable risk during and after pregnancy. The ABZ Stork's Nest strives to provide supportive services, workshops, and supplies to support and mitigate maternal health crisis facing expecting mothers, and new mothers. We assist by providing prenatal, and parenting workshops in an effort to provide public awareness on women's maternal health.
We understand that many women and children reside in communities where the healthy choice is not always the easy choice and is not often available.
